Seaweed reduces dysmenorrhea

Seaweed reduces Dysmenorrhea (period pain)

We know seaweed is fantastic for balancing hormones, helping you look and feel better. And now, we’re seeing customers with significantly reduced pain during their period.

Menstrual pain, scientifically known as Dysmenorrhea, affects 80% of young women between the ages of 15 and 30 and 20% from 30 to 50. But we’ve discovered that eating seaweed can significantly reduce its effects

  • Natural relief from period-pain
  • Balances hormones
  • Look and feel better
  • Full of required nutrients and vitamins
  • Improves focus and concentration

Seaweed reduces period pain since 2005!

For the past 20 years, researchers have seen that Japanese women have had lower rates of breast cancer than women in western countries. While initial studies were in animals, studies through to 2013 were with breast cancer survivors. There were changes in the women studied, but the researchers were focused on breast cancer. Not period pain.

Our customers said What?

Katie, a young woman in the Philippines, had been suffering from period cramps for five years when she turned to seaweed. Her pain had become so unbearable she was failing her exams.

She was encouraged to use seaweed for its health benefits, and in only one month her pain reduced from a debilitating 9 to an easily manageable 1 on the pain scale.

Use this pain scale to measure when seaweed reduces period pain since 2005

Here’s the assessment chart Katie used to describe her pain. How would you rate your period? Are your cramps mild, or do they interfere with your everyday life? Imagine the freedom you could gain from reducing that pain naturally!

Seaweed reduces period pain. How?

It’s suggested that exercise and a healthy diet reduce period pain. Vitamins and minerals also help, and of course, that’s what seaweed is full of!

Seaweed is fantastic for stabilizing hormonal levels, and it has a particular impact on balancing estrogen. In fact, period pain is often caused by the imbalance of estrogen and progesterone. Estrogen contracts the uterus and progesterone relaxes it, so too much estrogen causes bad cramps.

Seaweed can also help with other issues caused by periods and hormonal changes, such as acne! Could it also minimize the effects of menopause? Try it and let us know your results. Check out our free pilot trial here

Seaweed for Skin

Seaweed for Skin – Beautiful and healthy

Seaweed is known for its many benefits to the skin, including anti-aging and anti-acne abilities.  Many natural skincare brands are now using seaweed in their products because they’re seeing its power to cleanse, tone, moisturize and repair. So, what can it do for you?

Is Seaweed key to beautiful skin?

Seaweed is great for your overall health as you grow older. We know it has fantastic effects on the inside of your body, assisting with a multitude of issues. But, seaweed has also been shown to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Collagen replaces dead skin cells and gives our skin strength and elasticity. It ‘winds back our skin clock’

Plus, seaweed’s high vitamin C levels hydrate and nourish dry, aging skin. Are you ready to feel young inside and out?

  • Anti-aging
  • Less Acne
  • Improves Elasticity
  • Hydrates
  • Nourishes

Can seaweed clear my acne?

Seaweed does wonders for cleaning up your insides, so it makes sense that it helps cleanse your skin, too! Acne usually occurs when our oil glands produce too much oil. You start getting problems like pimples and blackheads, which are uncomfortable and hard to get rid of. They can even become embarrassing and make you feel insecure.

Seaweed products are perfect for oily and combination skin because they’re non-oily. This is great for unclogging your pores and keeping your skin clean. Some claims such as skin whitening push the boundaries but there are many products from reputable companies.

Seaweed is also a source of chlorophyll, which provides our bodies with anti-oxidants and removes toxins from our system. Yep – the pigment that turns plants green is also a superfood! Isn’t it time to get the beautiful skin you deserve? Try our capsules and see how they can change your overall health.

Check out Google search for seaweed products and you can find many seaweed-based skin care products. For a selection of just nine:

Seaweed For Hair

Seaweed Ends Bad Hair Days!

Whether you’re longing for thickness, length, health or cleanliness, seaweed can make sure you never have a bad hair day again.

  • Healthy Hair
  • Reduced Split Ends
  • Faster Growth
  • Fight Dandruff
  • Scalp repair

Can seaweed make my hair grow faster?

Yes! In fact, a study found that seaweed can make your hair grow FOUR TIMES FASTER. The study compared the regrowth rate of those with seaweed in their diet than those without. The seaweed eaters had a 95-100% regrowth rate, but those without seaweed only had a regrowth rate of 25-30%.

This is likely due to seaweed’s vitamins and minerals, possibly vitamin B1, B3, B6 which help hair follicles stimulate growth. (Our Pacific Seamoss has little Vitamin D, E or K so it is essential you have a balanced diet.)

Many of our customers, who were taking our capsules for other health reasons, were astounded when they found their hair in an amazing new condition. They had to visit their hairdressers more frequently and couldn’t figure out why!

Can seaweed help with split ends?

Incredibly, the healing properties of seaweed not only give you longer hair, but they also give you healthier hair

The constant washing and styling of our hair is extremely damaging and is the main cause – along with poor diets – of split ends.

By incorporating seaweed into your diet, your hair will be stronger against damage!

Can seaweed stop dandruff?

Dandruff happens when your head is too oily or dry, and your skin starts to shed small white flakes. It’s often caused by the unnatural chemicals we put in our hair, and it’s tempting to use even more products to stop it.

If you’re looking for a natural fix, seaweed can help your scalp repair itself with its many nutrients. Iodine, a naturally occurring protein in seaweed, is known to help with issues such as dry skin and eczema.

This means your scalp will become balanced and strong, eradicating any dandruff!

So, why not try our capsules and see your hair transform into the stunning locks you’ve always dreamed of?

Seaweed for Nails

Seaweed for Nails

This was a surprise to us since there’s not a lot in the way of scientific research to suggest any correlation between nail health and seaweed. We know seaweed improved health in many areas of the body, but never expected so many customers to find their nail health better than ever!

Thousands of Australians have poor nails, especially after years of manicures, chemicals, rough filing (or chewing!) and poor diets. Could seaweed be the solution?

How Seaweed Works

  • No artificial chemicals
  • Faster growing nails
  • Improves strength – less brittle
  • Good source of nutrients and vitamins
  • Nourishes – improves thyroid function

How is it possible?

We researched natural nail growth products and found their ingredients surprisingly similar to the contents of seaweed.

Health professionals have made it clear you should avoid chemicals and manicures if you want healthier nails. These existing natural nail health companies suggest you instead look to nutrients and vitamins.

Seaweed contains minerals and vitamins such as Potassium, Iron and Vitamins A, B and C. This means it provides anti-oxidants, promotes gut health and stabilizes hormones. These all contribute to overall health in the human body!

The American Academy of Dermatology says unhealthy nails can be signs of other illnesses and underlying conditions. As we know, seaweed is proven to help with many of these conditions.

So, is it really surprising that it contributes to healthy nails?

Can it help you?

Testimonials continue flooding in with real stories. BioSea Health customers say their nails are growing faster, stronger and healthier.

Anais Bouvier Gonzalez says she saw her nails getting stronger after just two weeks.

“My nails are fantastic,” she said, “that’s natural!”

“It’s Pacific Seamoss from Biosea Health, a product that’s really natural. This helps because it’s not that easy to eat seaweed unless you eat a crazy amount of sushi.”

With a quick Google search, you can find many articles by real people who started incorporating large amounts of seaweed in their diet. They too were shocked to find their hair, skin, and nails looking better than ever.  For testimonials from our customers click here

3 Ways Seaweed Boosts Immunity

With the rise of coronavirus, it’s a more important time than ever to make sure our immune systems are working, healthy and ready to fight! So, you might go to a chemist and buy all of your vitamins and mineral supplements. But, they’re probably expensive and packed with sugar and chemicals.

Boost Immunity with Seaweed

Alternatively, seaweed contains an incredible amount of vitamins and minerals. All-natural. It helps your body function without artificial or synthetic vitamins that you don’t process naturally.

Here are 3 vitamins and minerals already present in seaweed that get your immune system functioning at its best!

seaweed contains an incredible amount of vitamins and minerals. All natural. Helps your body function without artificial or synthetic vitamins that you don’t process naturally.

3 ways to boost immunity

  • Vitamin C – increases white blood cells
  • Zinc fights viruses
  • Iodine and Amino Acids Support thyroid function

Vitamin C

Many people turn to eating large amounts of orange juice when they’re sick because it’s high in Vitamin C. Also known as ascorbic acid, this vitamin is well known for boosting immunity and helping fight colds and flu.

The science says Vitamin C stimulates the production of white blood cells in the body – these are what fight off invaders such as viruses.

Our bodies can’t make our own Vitamin C, so it has to be found in our diets or through supplements. That’s where seaweed comes in! With its high Vitamin C levels, it boosts your immune system greatly. There is 25% of your daily requirements in seaweed.

Zinc

Zinc is a known inhibitor of coronavirus replication. Clinical trials of zinc lozenges in the common cold have demonstrated modest reductions in the duration and or severity of symptoms.1  Zinc assists your immune system by preventing viruses from binding to your RNA. When SARS-1 was studied, scientists found that zinc significantly helped the immune system fight the virus. By extension, this readily available nontoxic therapy should be deployed at the first signs of COVID-19.2  Zinc lozenges can be administered 5 times a day for up to 5 days and extended if needed if symptoms persist. The amount of elemental zinc lozenges is <25% of that in a single 220-mg zinc sulfate daily tablet. This dose of zinc sulfate has been effectively used in combination with antimalarials in early treatment of high-risk outpatients with COVID-19.3

Seaweed has 7 times the amount of zinc as oranges, so it only makes sense to use it for preventing sickness.

Iodine

Iodine supports your thyroid gland, an important organ for repairing damaged cells in your body.

Seaweed contains both iodine and the amino acid tyrosine. Together, they create the hormones that support the thyroid gland and help you fight viruses. Pacific Seamoss provides about 25% of your daily requirements but don’t go and eat this much kelp powder as it may have 3 times more of your RDA

These 3 ways to boost immunity also increases your energy levels and overall health!

Biosea Health Period Pain

Period Pain Trial

Period Pain Trial With Seaweed

Trial Now Closed

Katie, aged 26, suffers from severe period pain. So severe, when coinciding with uni exams, she failed some. Her period pain (dysmenorrhea) would see her in bed for 3 days. She ate seaweed. Before seaweed, she described her pain as 11 out of 10. Now in her 4th month of seaweed, its 1 out of 10.

Amanda, aged 42 suffered severe dysmenorrhea as a teenager. Vomiting in the sick bay at school. With children, at early 30’s it had calmed down. But as typical the pain was gradually increasing. She ate seaweed. When asked about pain, it was 8+ and now 3.

Painful periods trial scale

Join our Period Pain Trial

Are Katie and Amanda typical? Dysmenorrhea, or painful menstrual periods, range from uncomfortable to incapacitating. In 16-25 year old women living in Victoria, Australia, 19% reported mild, 49% moderate and 32% severe dysmenorrhoea [1]. Globally, as many as 90% of adolescent girls and more than 50% of menstruating women worldwide report suffering from it, with 10–20% of them describing their suffering as severe and distressing. [2]

Over the past 8 months customers have been buying and eating Biosea Health seaweed. It is only a small daily amount, but every day. As it is easy, always there, and you don’t miss a day, just because you just don’t feel like a bowl of seaweed. In this period pain trial, continue to eat your normal food.  Do not change your diet or lifestyle. Continue to use oral contraceptives or NSAIDS if these have been recommended. The 4 seaweed capsules per day are about 3 to 4g of seaweed.  Maybe 2 capsules at breakfast and 2 at dinner. But can be eaten all at once.  It is less than 1 serve of sea vegetables.

Positive Effects

Seaweed has been eaten for millennia and known to be healthy. We are the first to provide this in a form that you eat every day, not just as a food. Do not eat kelp at this quantity as it has too much iodine. Whereas our Pacific Seamoss seaweed is packed full on essential daily nutrients and vitamins.

  • Pain may be reduced. We don’t know if it will be an 11 to 1 or an 8+ to a 3 pain score. It may be only a 3 to a 1. What will it do for you?
  • Customers report a range of other physical changes. These may or may not occur.  Nails getting less brittle. Hair grows more quickly and is healthier. Less anxiety. Better sleep. Easier exercise.
  • These and other changes will be very individual and depend on your existing diet and lifestyle. Our surveys show some changes take a couple of months to notice.
  • Most older people report reduced aches and pains. Our customers have told us lots of very positive things here.

Minimal Negative Effects

  •  There are no serious downsides. This is just food. Food for Health. You may not like eating the 4 capsules, but it’s just because its the most convenient way to have something daily. It is organic, clean, and grown sustainably.
  • Some have noticed minor stomach or toileting changes in the first few days. Seaweed is a good pre-biotic and full of vitamins and minerals.

Confidential Survey

We want to look at the effect of eating dry seaweed every day. You will be asked to fill out a survey about your health before you start the seaweed, at 4 weeks, 8 weeks, and if you continue then at 12 weeks.

The survey will ask some detailed questions about your health.

  • Your answers will be completely confidential.
  • You may withdraw at any stage.
  • We will not know who you are, but we will provide a bottle number to match up the 3-4 surveys.
  • We will send you more information and link to the first survey. The survey takes about 30 minutes to complete.

We are looking for further volunteers for this painful period trial. Can you recommend a friend to try? Please call or send an email or SMS to us (email is seaweed at bioseahealth.com) with your name, email, mobile and address so we can post the seaweed to you.

Trial Now Closed

The trial is now closed, although we will be undertaking other trials later in 2020. But in the meantime, why not take up our special offer – try for a month for the cost of postage. Click here for more information.

There are 900 million young women globally with dysmenorrhea and a further 1.2 Billion 30 to 50 year old’s who put up with chronic pain.

Your involvement may help both you and other women. Often others are in oppressed societies and have limited access to health care.

You also contribute to impoverished seaweed farmers whom we support.

Seaweed Sourdough Recipe

Seaweed Sourdough Recipe – Easy to Eat

Eating Pacific Sea Moss in gel capsules is a convenient way of consuming the 3 to 6 grams of seaweed that appears to provide a range of benefits. But what if you have trouble swallowing tablets.  Or you don’t want to consume Pacific SeaMoss chocolate either purchased or put into a delicious recipe; or chocolate gives you migranes?

Chris decided to make Seaweed Sourdough

Chris used his own recipe, but we have found some detailed instructions on the web. Check out this one from  Homestead and Chill. It is very detailed on the process.  Good for a read.  All Chris did is swap out the salt with Pacific Seamoss Powder.

Benefits

  • Great taste
  • Eating 2 or 3 slices per day provides your 5g of seaweed per day
  • Swaps out the salt (Sodium) with Potassium. Tastes the same, but most are K deficient.
  • Healthier.

Pacific Seamoss powder will provide the following minerals and vitamins

  • Potassium: 30% of RDA (Recommended daily allowance)
  • Vitamin A: 30%RDA
  • Vitamin C: 30%
  • Vitamin B – especially B1, B3 and B6: 10%
  • Iodine: 15%
  • Iron: 9%
  • Magnesium: 6%

Seaweed is also full of trace elements such as selenium (elements in this table)

Ingredients for Seaweed Sourdough

  • Sourdough starter – approximately 100 grams will be used in the recipe. Learn how to make your own starter here!
  • Flour – 455 grams total. A combo or organic white bread flour and whole wheat flour is used. A little rye flour is optional.
  • Salt – 10 grams. They say Sea salt, kosher salt, or Himalayan salt. Replace this with 20 grams of seaweed powder per loaf.
  • Filtered water – 345 grams (about 1.5 cups)

Supplies

  • Liquid measuring cup
  • A large mixing bowl and/or dough tub
  • A kitchen scale
  • A dutch oven or cast iron combo cooker – We love our Lodge combo cooker!
  • Proofing Basket, aka banneton. Choose between a round “boule” shape or an oval “batard” shape.
  • A lint-free tea towel
  • High-heat oven mitts
  • Thermometer – Either a food probe thermometer or an ambient room thermometer
  • Dough scraper
  • A warm location

Process

Sourdough baking is generally a two-day process. Most of the time the dough is just sitting there, hanging out in various stages of fermentation. So should only take about 30 minutes max.

  1. Feed sourdough starter
  2. Make Autolyse
  3. Dough time
  4. Slap and fold
  5. Bulk ferment
  6. Stretch and fold
  7. form the loaf
  8. Proof
  9. Prep to Bake
  10. Bake

Using a Dutch Oven

Today, “Dutch oven” is a term used for several types of cookware. It commonly refers to a rounded cast iron pot with a flat bottom, sides and a lid. Read more at Clank Kitchens Here. These are great to do the actual cooking.

Back Pain No More

Back pain no more says Prof Brown

The best thing I have noticed is that I can move freely, so the lower back pain is simply not a hindrance, and that has been a really nice change.
I’ve had soreness in my lower back pain for over 15 years.

I went out and gardened the other day, and dug over the soil which is a lot of clay. Normally I would have then spent the afternoon on the couch, but my back was not sore at all.

I have worked for 15 years in research in functional foods and always tried to eat the good foods. The results were there in animals. But to see them in humans as well – just fantastic.

The question to ask is if you stop eating seaweed, does the pain come back. The short answer is it does for me.

Seaweed improved memory

I was looking for some of the breast cancer benefits and weight loss from seaweed and never thought this would happen. You may know the occassion – you forget the words, their name, and you know its there, but somehow it goes. A number of times a day. Grrh. After 6 weeks eating seaweed, I forgot a word. Then I realised that for the past 2 weeks I had not had that memory miss. My mind is clearer and sharper. Has seaweed improved my memory?  Interesting science on animals
